The Georgian Writing Bureau is a solid framed mahogany cupboard with 5 drawers to the bottom and a leather inlay writing slope. It is made in mahogany with intricate veneer detailing and solid brass handles. These desks first appeared in the late 17th century. They were an adaptation of the chest of drawers onto which a writing slope was fitted. The Bureau has subsequently become a very popular piece.
